Graham and I had a fabulous time in Vegas. We visited eleven hotels and saw tons of sites. Most of our site seeing photos are here.
We arrived on Monday and got settled in the wonderful hotel provided by Grandma and Jesse. Graham was slowly getting over a head cold, so I investigated around our hotel and found a Walmart on the strip with meds.
Tuesday was a very eventful day! We started off by hitting the Marriage License Bureau, and pretty easily got our license paid for for the wedding. We could not for love or money get a cab back to the Strip, so we walked most of downtown Vegas to reach the northern most hotel: The Stratosphere. We took the lift to the top, and saw the most amazing view of Vegas and the surrounding mountains.
Then we were able to get a cab back down the Strip to the Venetian hotel, where we had lunch near the street performers at Otto Italian cafe.
The Strip made for excellent walking, so we moseyed on down to The Mirage hotel & checked out the Dolphin Habitat and Lion Preserve in the Secret Garden area. Later that night we watched the most awesome free show in all of Vegas: The Volcano!
Wednesday morning, Rachel joined us! We all took the hotel shuttle over to the Bellagio hotel where we saw the gorgeous glass ceiling in the atrium and checked out the Chinese New Year display in the Conservatory. We also took in their lovely art collection/museum.
Then we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. After a near catastrophe with the cake delivery, everything came together beautifully.
You can see more of the wedding photos here. I am also going to make CD copies of all the 61 photos from the wedding and post-ceremony for family. It includes a release from Mon Bel Ami to make any reproductions you wish.
After the ceremony, we ate some cake & went to the top of the Eiffel Tower for some romantic views of the skyline.
Thursday morning, we visited the sharks and other aquatic life at Mandalay Bay hotel. Then we walked through the Luxor pyramid, the Excalibur castle, and NY NY to get to MGM's lion habitat. Then we ate lunch at Nine Fine Irishmen restaurant. After a rest back at the hotel, I went out with Rachel, Pamela, Marie and PF to the Hard Rock Cafe and did some gambling at the Hotel's Casino. I won $20 at Black Jack & $2 at the slots. Woo!
Friday we got up super, super early to catch our plane home. We had a fantastic time & are super happy to be back home!
