Returned from Ocean City

We have returned from Ocean City! We had an awesome time. See all my pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7176266@N02/

Wednesday we arrived to find we had been upgraded to a room with a gorgeous view of the beach. We headed out to the Boardwalk, and walked around a bit. Everything is pretty much closed for the season. We did find one restaurant still open, the Bayside Skillet :) yummy crepes.

Then we headed south to Chincoteague Island in Virginia. We perused and shopped in the town. Got some great directions from the locals. Headed out to the beach and trails up to the Lighthouse. There are tons more trails though to come back and explore. We also drove around the huge lake with over 10,000 birds (it's a seasonal thing). Upon returning to OC, we took the Winterland tour of lights. Super cutesy.

Thursday we cooked dinner. I HELPED! Chellie cooks! I'm not going to attempt Mom's fascinating ability to cut vegetables without a cutting board, but we had a good time, and late lunch dinner was yummy. Also watched the parade, and saw the Ga Tech band, & lots of places Krista and I had just visited a couple of weekends ago. We also walked on the beach some more, and read/watched TV.

Friday we checked out, and headed south to Assateague Island. The wild ponies were out and about despite hunting season going on. The waves were HUGE on the beach! The day warmed up to a sweltering 55 degrees, and we were stripping off our layers. We walked the Forest Trail and the Dunes Trail.

Then we headed back to Salisbury, and visited the nearby used books store where I splurged and robbed of most of their Roman history section. Sigh... Tonight we're headed out to see the new Bond movie and eat dinner at a seafood place. Tomorrow morning we plan to hit the flea market before getting mom to her plane at 3pm.

Everyone should come visit Chellie! :D but only if you like beaches and water.
